The Waking Sleep

Delia Derbyshire Day, inspired by the legendary electronic musician Delia Derbyshire, AoR composed an electronic and acoustic piece to be played as a live accompaniment to a dream sequence collage of films by Di Mainstone

The resulting work entitled The Waking Sleep influenced by the archive of soundscapes recorded by Delia and the philosophy of Gurdjieff, found AoR exploring a new palette of sounds including waterphone, cube weevil, found percussion and bass clarinet; and making particular use of multiphonics and circular breathing.
